Webinar Stories that Move ‘International refugeeday’

With World Refugee day coming up, we will give two webinars on teaching the topics of prejudice and discrimination. Two International Stories that Move trainers will introduce ways of discussing these complex and sensitive topics in the classroom. Besides showing how the online tool works, you will get to know several stories of young adults dealing with diversity and discrimination in their personal lives and you will get to know concrete examples of exercises that you can do with your students.

19 April 2021 (English) Starting 19 April running for two weeks: Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) ‘Discussing diversity and discrimination’ based on the Stories that Move online toolbox. Participation is free.

22 March at 17.00 – 18:30  Watch Party – #FightRacism Youth standing up against racism. Using resources from Stories that Move, young people connected to the Anne Frank Youth Network are coming together to honor the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination.This event marks the launch of a new series of Watch Parties, centered around topics connected to discrimination, equality and social justice. The goal is to create a space for an open conversation about issues that are relevant in our society today. Are you interested in watching short film clips related to the topic with other young people and discussing them in a safe online environment?

11 March, 17.00 – 18.00, Webinar (in English) Stories that Move and International Day against Racism, by Jurmet Huitema-de Waal and Danielle van der Meer. An introduction to working with the learning path ‘Facing discrimination’. We will demonstrate how to use the tool in distance learning the  class.  Have a look at the two pdf worksheets, Medine’s story and Facing discrimination that can be used in distance learning and in general as an introduction to learning path 2.

11 February, 17.00 – 18.00 Webinar – (in English) Stories that Move and Valentine’s Day, by Jurmet Huitema-de Waal and Karen Polak. We will introduce different ways to discuss the  theme of love and diversity with your students. One example is this lesson plan.
