Stories that Move
Active learning methods presume that the educator has high expectations of all the learners and will delegate a lot of the learning process to their learners. Active learning motivates learners to explore by giving them ownership of the learning process, empowering them and helping them see that they have a role in society. The educator is a supervisor.
Open exchange of ideas is essential to develop the intercultural competencies young people will need in their future lives. Work in small groups, class discussions and ‘visible thinking’ are integrated into the Stories that Move learning paths. Dialogue among peers fosters the social and emotional learning needed to reflect on diversity in society and the impact of discrimination on all of us. Visible thinking is a method developed to help learners be aware of their own learning process.back to top
